When have you been in an accident where the other person involved blatantly lied to the police about what transpired?

The Staff Sergeant showed up, and he asked me if I was okay? Yeah, then he asked me what happened? I told him, heading home and this guy was in my lane coming right at me, and I had no where to go but where the car is stopped at, before he plowed into the Oak Tree.
HIM: You see Officers, I was just minding my own business, when this kid here was hot rod’ing down the street, weaving on both lanes. The kid tried to run me off the road and I had no choice but to get out of the way and as you can see. She destroyed my car! And if you would excuse me, I am calling my lawyer and going to sue!
POLICE OFFICER (Staff Sergeant): Please be advised that the Medical Field is working very hard to getting a more centralized system where Pharmacies and Medical Doctors can see what Doctors are assigned to that patient to prevent things like this from happening.

He was a complete whack!
POLICE OFFICER (Investigator): Of note, I must add, both were his prescription pills both by two different doctors. (he pauses, and flipping paperwork) So it seemed after they had spoken with the Physicians, neither one of them were aware that both were treating him. Because per the records, the patient claimed he wasn’t seeing any other Doctor. Dr (name) 1 had declared him mentally unstable, while Dr (name) 2 had declared him having spasm problems. Dr (name) 1 had prescribed him Temazepam - Benzos ( benzodiazepines) and Dr. (name) 2 had prescribed him Darvocet (propoxyphene / acetaminophen).
Back in those days it was landline phones. The woman saw what happened and she told me to stay put, she’s calling the operator. (Apparently so did about 5 other people.)
This has never-ever left me!
I never seen my dad grow pale like that, he was very concerned! He commented, if the guy took that pill with this pill at any dosage, he will die. As soon as HE SAID THAT, the dispatch relayed the message: “The guy expired. Drug reaction.” Everyone who heard it was very quiet!
HIM: After when I speak with my lawyer.
What should I do to stop being angered easily?
ME: Did he have a mom or dad? Or wife? Anyone?
Two of the employees who just clocked out were heading home and they saw me and pulled over.
Investigator walks over and tells him to stand straight, put both feet together, both arms straight down and look straight at me. He took a pen light and zoomed it across his eyes. I could see it from 4 feet away. His pupils were very uneven, one was extremely dilated.
Other Officer: finds drugs in vehicle.
On a Saturday morning, I was mowing the lawn, and my dad was trimming the hedge bushes, when 3 Police cars arrived. I immediately stopped, and got my dad, and we both walked up. Then the County Coroner arrived in the Sheriff’s vehicle, and we walked up to the garage.
Well the Cops came and they immediately went to treat the guy that plowed into the oak tree.
Other Officers: Talking to witnesses and me.
More questioning, the Ambulance arrives (AMC Rambler).
Apparently one of my employees called my dad because he came with his truck. He was very angry with me, as he was under the impression that “I” caused the accident. He demanded the Officer for the tickets. The Officer said “No sir, your daughter doesn’t get any ticket, in fact I am going to congratulate her on her excellent driving.” My dad just stood there, a bit confused.

The guy began to lapse into code. They rushed him off to the hospital that was about 4 miles away.
He told me to stay there.
Have you been with a stranger yet?
CORONER: He died exactly according to your knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs. They had found exact the dosage you had suspected, and it seemed he did take it within the two hour time frame before it kicked in completely and killed him.
ME: That’s too bad.
Then the Staff Sergeant went up to the guy, and same old story, and he wanted his lawyer because he was going to sue.
If you caught a shoplifter at your yard sale, how would you handle it?
My dad thanked them for the follow up, and he then ordered me to finish my work. And he resumed what he was doing after everyone departed.
I was under “daylight” driving restrictions (in one year I would be eligible for a regular full driver’s license) coming home from work. This guy was driving on the wrong side of the road and ran me off the road (I had no other direction to turn except to my right which was a strip of land and sidewalk).
Then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, the guy just literally collapsed, going totally limp, striking his head pretty hard on the sidewalk. The Ambulance Medics, Officers, and 2 Firemen picked him up and placed him on the stretcher, the Officer handcuffed one hand to the metal railing.

Then she came running out and wanting to make sure I was okay? Yes I was fine.
The car was fine, I was able to go home, and my dad followed me.
The Staff Sergeant went up and told my dad what happened, and they had now 11 witnesses (including the Barber shop across the street) that saw the entire event.

MY DAD: It’s a shame. Really stupid.
For the next half hour the Investigator was collecting information from my Dad, the body was now going to the County Mortician and here’s my dad, telling them how they get that specifics out of his body. He gave them his business card (Bay Pines) and told them to relay the info to him. He was positive he was correct.
Well, my dad wanted to get his hands on this guy’s throat, and the Investigator told him “he’s coded, he’s at the xxx Hospital Emergency room.” The Investigator after taking photos, placed the drugs on the trunk of his car, my dad went up. I told the Staff Sergeant it was okay, because my dad’s a chief Pharmacist at Bay Pines (VA hospital).
Have you ever been spanked in front of a group of people?
Yup!
CORONER: No, both of his parents are deceased, he had a sister, but she’s also deceased. There’s no next of kin. The body went to the potter’s field. Because he was homeless and living in his car, which his car as they learned did not have insurance, and his tag expired 2 months ago.
Staff Sergeant: Please put your hands on your head.
He kept on going and plowed into the Oak Tree. About 300 yards away.
Asking me what happened and I told them, he was driving in the oncoming lane and I had no where to go other than getting out of his way and where the car is right now.
[NOTE: Both drugs are no longer available or prescribed in USA]
Once we arrived home, my mom immediately blurts out ‘YOU ARE SO GROUNDED!’ And my dad then said “No she’s not.” He then ordered me to take a shower. This was his way of getting everyone out of ear shot while he talked with mom.
